SSW supports sustainable employment and promote the in-work progression of employed individuals with low skills through the delivery of work related skills training to raise the level of attainment achieved by these individuals, enabling them to improve their employment status and to move them on to undertake higher levels of training. This will be achieved through a tailored package of interventions and innovative approaches to delivery those priorities the skills of employers and employees within the London businesses which will:
- enhance their skills in order to become more successful in the labour market
- advance career prospects with training tailored toward in-work progression
- educe the risk of long term unemployment
- improve the prospects of sustained long term employment
Through this programme, individuals can achieve up to 3 units to support them in their current role. For individuals that do not hold a Level 2 there is an opportunity for them to gain a full Level 2 qualification. These courses can be delivered on evenings and weekends due to daytime working hours.

- Aged 19+ and resident in England
- Be employed for a minimum of 8 hours per week at a place of work within any London Borough in a business of no more than 250 staff, of which there are no more than 49 staff for activity delivered at Level 4
- If not employed, then volunteering 8+ hours per week and not claiming JSA
