- Not repayable until you earn more than £404/week, £1750/month or £21k/year. If your salary drops below this, you stop making repayments
- There is only a 9% loan repayment from your salary
- Access to HE loans get written off if you start a Higher Education course that is eligible for student finance
- The 19+ Advanced Learner Loan is not dependent on your income and there are no credit checks

You can apply online or download an application form to send by post. After confirming your choice of course and meeting the course eligibility criteria, please ask us for a ‘Learning and Funding Information’ letter containing course information which you will need to make your loan application. Please note you will need an NI number before the loan can be paid but you can make the initial loan application without one.

– Must be aged 19 or above on the first day of your course
– Loan available for courses starting on or after 1st August 2013
– Must be living in the UK on the first day of your course and have lived in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for three years immediately before this
– Studying with a college or training organisation in England approved for public funding
– Enrolling on an eligible course at Level 3 and above which includes: A-Levels, Access to Higher Education Diplomas, other Diplomas and Certificates, Advanced Apprenticeships or Higher Apprenticeships
