Apprenticeship Programme Content
In most cases (dependent on sector), the Apprenticeship Programme is made up of five sections:
Improving Knowledge | – off the job training (theory/knowledge) that compliments “on-the-job” training and meets standards set by various industry sectors |
Improving Competency | – a record of “on the job” activities and training assessed by competent and qualified staff within the workplace |
Improving Functional Skills | – a set of skills required for any job role covering Maths, English and Computer Literacy |
Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) | – aims to develop the knowledge required to understand employee rights and responsibilities as well as gaining an understanding and awareness of employers’ expectations, rights and obligations |
Improving Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) | – emphasising the importance of acquiring and improving skills enabling people to cope with social, economic, and technological change in order to enable effective learning |
Eligibility Criteria*
To be eligible for the Apprenticeship Programme Funding, candidates must:
- Must be aged 16 or over when you start
- Not hold or be studying towards a Level 4 qualification or higher (including degrees)
- Hold a valid contract of employment with an employer
- Have employer consent for pursuing an Apprenticeship at the appropriate level in the relevant sector
- Resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
