This project is designed to support those individuals who have recently been put under consultation or notice of redundancy, have been notified by their employer that they are likely to be directly affected by downsizing or company closure locally or have recently been made unemployed.
Skills Support for Redundancy includes up-skilling and re-skilling individuals to improve employment opportunities via careers advice and skills interventions (e.g. soft skills/work skills) tailored to employer needs and recruitment opportunities.
What you will gain
This project provides:
- Individual Training Needs Analysis and Individual Learning Plan with a qualified 5E advisor
- Sector-specific training to update skills, including pre-employment training to enter an alternative occupation/sector where necessary
- Training in preparation for self-employment (where required)
- Skills for Life/Basic Skills/ICT diagnostic assessments and upskilling where necessary

Eligibility
You must be:
- aged 19 or over AND
(a) Under consultation of redundancy – evidenced with a personal consultation process letter or letter on headed paper from employer confirming individual/job role is affected by proposed dismissal by reason of redundancy
(b) Under notice of redundancy – evidenced with a personal redundancy notice letter or letter on headed paper from employer in which individual is listed as ‘under notice’ of redundancy from a specific date
(c) Notification by employer of likely downsizing or company closure – evidenced by a letter/email or letter on headed paper/email from employer notifying the risk of job loss from downsizing/company closure
(d) Newly unemployed – individual who is 19+, not in paid employment/self employment and actively seeking work who have been made redundant within 6 months of their start date
Duration
The course duration is up to 13 weeks
